Surenzo, better known as Silenoz, has been Dimmu Borgir's primary guitarist since the band's inception in 1989. Beyond his role as a guitarist, Silenoz composes nearly all of Dimmu Borgir's music and writes the majority of the band's lyrics, often basing album concepts on detailed narratives he develops. His musical journey began with thrash metal band Nocturnal Breed before he discovered his true calling with Dimmu Borgir.
